SeaView Systems’ industry-leading SVS-603HR wave sensor has been augmented with new capabilities in their latest firmware update. New output parameters include wave speed and wave length; zero-crossing maximum wave height (the maximum wave height calculated using time domain methods) and Hm1 (wave height calculated using spectral moments). The firmware update also included improvements for the energy and directional spectra models and supplementary external compass support.
“This firmware release continues our aggressive, ongoing development of our SVS-603HR wave sensor,” said SeaView’s Dr. Timothy Crandle. “We have long anticipated the increasing deployment of various sensors on autonomous surface and submersible vehicles. The latest firmware continues our push into algorithms supporting these capabilities.”
