One of the most popular trout fishing and charter boat destinations in the Great Lakes now has access to to wave statistics from the addition of a SeaView Systems SVS-603 wave sensor to the NexSens CB-150 Data Buoy near Stannard Rock Lighthouse, Lake Superior, which is great news to local mariners and regional scientists. Although the lighthouse has been a NOAA weather station since 1984, no information regarding waves were available as the instrumentation was located over 100 feet above the water’s surface.
